Telestrator Support

Overview

Telestrator is an iPad-based broadcast telestration tool that serves a live browser overlay over the local network.

Basic Setup

1. Open Telestrator on the iPad.
2. Allow Local Network access if prompted.
3. Open Settings and note the local webpage URL shown in the app.
4. From another device on the same network, open that URL in a browser or use it in CasparCG / OBS as a browser source.
5. Draw on the iPad and confirm the overlay updates live.

Common Issues

Browser output does not connect

• Confirm both devices are on the same local network.
• Confirm the URL in Settings is reachable from the second device.
• Confirm the configured port is open on the local network.
• Reopen the app if the local server was started before network conditions changed.

Local Network permission was denied

• Open iPad Settings → Telestrator → re-enable Local Network access.

Cannot import images

• Confirm Photos access is allowed for Telestrator in iPad Settings.

Recording does not save

• Confirm Photos access is allowed for Telestrator.
• Stop the recording and wait for processing to complete before leaving the app.
